My little man had an accident after school yesterday. The result:
He was playing chase with a friend after school, watching the friend behind him--not where he was going! He ran, very quickly and very hard, right into a tall tree stump!! His right knee took the impact of the blow.
The remainder of the day, and last night, he was unable to straighten his leg or put any pressure on it.
While most of you might call the doctor, Coach walks a block over and gets the young athletic trainer he knows to come evaluate it!! She was so great with him and determined that he does not have a fracture, just very deep bruising.
Jman thinks it is soooo cool that he has something called a 'contusion'!! Funny! Now, we're anxiously waiting for all that bruising to surface...so we'll have a black knee in a few days! Cool!
So, his class is on a field trip today and we are home nursing a knee. There is no way he could have hobbled along! What I'm thankful for:
Well...........not this grumpy looking face!! He's really trying not to laugh......he figured he needed to look sad and tough since he's hurt! HA!
1) That the injury is not so much worse! That he didn't hit head or face first into a tree!
2) Ice for the swelling.
3) Motrin for the pain.
4) That today is my regular day off and I'm not missing work.
5) That currently, both my kids are getting along, watching Scooby Doo together! We can only pray this lasts aaaaaaaaaaaallllllllllllll day!!
Pray that we're up and moving again by tonight and definately tomorrow!!!

Ooooh! I hope it doesn't hurt too bad. Looks kind of swollen. He's a brave one if he can laugh and joke about it. Blessings,
Mama Bear
OUCHHHH! Be sure to take pics in a couple of days when it looks really bad! He'll get LOTS of sympathy then... ;-)
