Boy, I have had a day!!
This morning, I went here:

back to the dentist! I was there little more than a month ago for a filling.
I've started having pain again. Same area. Different tooth.
Diagnosis: I need a root canal!!
Can you name 100 other things that you would rather do than have a root canal? Give me a moment. I can!! I've had one before! Several years ago!
Can you name 100 other things that you would rather spend $1,800.00 on? (no dental insurance here!) Give me a moment. I can!!
{{big, heaving sigh}}
Then.....this afternoon, I went here:

Now, I'll spare you all the details........let's just say it's been hurting to go potty!
Yes, sure enough, a bladder infection!! The P.A. I saw was rather impressed with my Web MD self-diagnosis.
One antibiotic. Two infections. Two pains too many!
What a day!
As I'm leaving the dr.'s office to go pick up my Rx, I'll admit I was having a little pity party for myself! Ever so small. But still, a pity party. And of course worrying about the dental expense!
It didn't last long.
I soon heard a still, small, quiet voice speaking to me.
"Yes, neither are fun. One will be expensive and things are tight. But, don't I always provide? And, today, at this point in time, you were not diagnosed with cancer, MS, Lupus, heart disease, diabetes........need I go on?!"
"No Lord, you do not need to go on. Thank you for the reminder! I am thankful and grateful and counting my blessings!"
Came home. Mixed and baked a cake with Agirl. Hey, when you can't do retail therapy, baking therapy is the next best thing!
She chose vanilla Funfetti frosting!
I need some Funfetti tonight!
Blessings,

Praying for you!!
Love the funfetti! Sorry to hear about your aches and pains. Way to keep a positive outlook!
Becky! Great minds think alike. I made funfetti cake today, too! My first ever, so that's funny. Feel better, friend. Praying for a speedy recovery. I have had 2 root canals, and the antibiotic sure helps with the pain! Have a better day tomorrow.
Becky, so sorry to hear about your bad day! Hope you are feeling better soon! And enjoy the funfetti - that sounds great anytime!
Ahhh you always have such a great attitude...hope you feel better soon!!

Oh, ouch. We don't have dental insurance either, so I feel your pain. But you have a great perspective on it...just keep focused on the good things! Like funfetti...mmmm.
Sorry to hear about your bad day! I wish I could enjoy some of your cake. It sounds REALLY good!
Dang!!!!! Glad you found that perspective, though! Good girl-
We love to bake oatmeal choc. chip cookies....they are yummy in the dough stage (which is why I bake) and after baking. I can't think of any reason I LIKE to go to the dentist. Kind of get anxiety about going. You poor baby! I get UTI twice a year and it hurts so....double poor baby!!

Just think of it as getting the medical stuff over with for the year! :-) Praying for ya!
BTW, I hear funfetti works wonders!!! :-)
Ouch! Sounds like a rough day. I'm glad you were reminded of God's blessing and provision.
Hope you start to feeling better now.
What a great idea to bake instead of retail therapy. I'll have to try that.
oh so sorry! esp about the dental bill - ouch! When you spend that kind of $ you really want to have something to show for it!! hope it's as painless as possible!
I've had two root canals...no fun. But I love your perspective.
When I have baking therapy I also have eating therapy!! Glad you were able to enjoy spending baking time with Agirl I bet that's great therapy too! She is so sweet! Glad we got to visit on the phone! I hope you feel better soon!
Sorry to hear about how yuck you've been feeling. But the voice you heard is so right... the diagnosis can ALWAYS be worse so feel blessed! We do baking therapy here too. Usually chocolate walnut cookies or banana nut bread but funfetti sounds SO GOOD right about now! Hope you feel better quickly!
Becky,
I'll keep you in my prayers. I feel your pain about the toth issues and no dental insurance expense. I am having my 5th tooth pulled on Tuesday because it's been such a problem. I hate that I don't realize how bad they are until it's too late! So, you have my empathy and my prayers.
Funfetti sounds like a great remedy for all of life's pains! Glad you and the little one did some bonding. That's much more fun than a pity party!

Oh, Girl! So sorry! I'm thinking the bill for the dental is just as painful as the condition itself! OUCH! And I had two of those dang bladder infections the first several weeks after coming home with Chloe. Hope the antibiotics kicks it soon! Water and Cranberry juice...
My mouth has been hurting all over... hope I'm not in for the same... No dental ins. here either! Yikes!
Have you been to this dentist for a while and do you trust him? I've heard lots of stories about dentists doing unnecessary work. If you doubt at all, I'd get a second opinion. :-/
So sorry, Becky! I will be praying for you but I love your perspective on it! We are so blessed even with all the little bumps in the road.
Oh, our milk is at $4.19 a gal and I buy 2 gal of whole for my littlest and 2 gal of skim for the rest of us so I just round at $8 per kind of milk. Sorry for the confusion!! Oh, but when we lived in Hawaii for a short time, I remember paying $3.95 per 1/2 gal so the $8 a gal is very real in some places lol.
Sorry to hear about the aches and pains in the body and the pocket book...but love that you heard God whispers and that baking with Agilr was the needed therapy.
Sorry about the bad day, and yes I can think of lots of things to spend $1800 on. We do have dental insurance but I don't think it helps any to tell you the truth.
I hope you get to feeling better.
Oh, Becky, I am so sorry! I am glad you had some funfetti to make your day better. Of course, I am especially glad you have a Father who watches over you, cares for you, and provides so wonderfully!
I will be praying about your tooth, and I am glad you said in your last post that you are feeling better! Those bladder infections are NO fun!
Love and blessings,
K
